We, the members of St. Perpetua Parish, know the unfailing love of God. Our communion with Jesus and with the Church binds us together through times
of transition and growth. Drawing on this strong bond and following the example and teachings of Christ, we commit ourselves to building an inclusive community by: courageously sharing our faith with everyone in our parish; actively reaching out to those in need within and beyond our parish;
fostering improvements that will help us carry out our ministries most effectively.

Dear Members of St. Perpetua Community (4/3/20)
Since our first communication (3/15/20), the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic has escalated and intensified. Contra Costa Health Department issued a shelter-in-place ordinance which has been extended to the end of May. Hence, public gatherings and liturgies are not taking place. Bishop Barber has given dispensation from Sunday Mass to all members of the Diocese of Oakland. You can read the Sunday and daily Scripture readings HERE and reflect on them even though they will not be publicly proclaimed. St. Perpetua School is closed through the end of the school year and our area schools are closed as well. The dates that have been set are subject to change depending on the success of mitigating the virus. Social distancing is critical to stem the spread of the coronavirus since many who are infected have no physical symptoms. Face masks when leaving your house are recommended. While the current restrictions are burdensome and isolating they are critical for the health and wellbeing of all of us. Parish meetings and ministries are happening online via Zoom, including a weekly “Town Hall” meeting at 7:00 pm open to everyone for the next several weeks. Anyone needing pastoral care or Anointing of the Sick should call Father John through the parish office. This is also a critical financial time for everyone, including our parish. If you are not signed up for EFT (Electric Fund Transfer) for your stewardship of the parish, you are encouraged to do so HERE.
If you or someone you know is stranded or needs a vital errand run, please email The Women's Ministry and they will do what they can to assist.
May Christ, the Healer and Divine Physician, restore healing and wholeness to our world.
Saint Perpetua, pray for us.
Father John Kasper, OSFS
